| CONSTRUCTION | Curlew is moulded to Lloyds' requirements under their individual supervision
and is issued with their Hull Construction Certificate. The hull is constructed
of chopped strand mat and woven rovings. The bottom resin is clear and
is coated with epoxy paint before antifouling. The deck has a 1/2" balsa
sandwich with marine ply inserts and is stiffened in way of the mast by
moulded-in mahogany beams. |

| CENTREBOARD | This is a 3/4" thick galvanised steel plate, pivotted in the ballast
keel where it cannot leak and prevented from 'clonking' by nylotron pads.
It is hoisted by a wire-and-rope drum winch operated from the cockpit.<BR> The glassfibre centreboard case is moulded into the hull and is all below the cabin sole except for a small trunk under the companionway steps. |
| FITTINGS and EQUIPMENT | The standard boat is complete with fittings including: pulpit, pushpit and guardwires; bilge and cockpit pumps; brass mushroom vents; sheet and halyard winches; samson post and mooring cleats; Sestrel-Moore compass; navigation lights. Gas cooker in gimbals; fixed gas oven; cabin table; Blake sea toilet; washbasin; cabin and chart lights. The standard inventory is extensive and inc'udes: 351b (16kg) COR anchor; 30 fathoms 5/16" (8mm) chain; 251b ( 11 kg) COR kedge anchor; 20 fathom kedge warp; mooring warps, fenders, boathook and cockpit cover. |
